Maxine Zickfield, 99, of Cape Girardeau peacefully entered her heavenly home Monday, Nov. 18, 2013.

She was born Nov. 11, 1914, at Newton, Ill., to the Rev. Orville Elmer and Maud Trimble Isley. In 1926, she moved to Cape Girardeau after her father accepted a call to minister at Sargents Chapel Lutheran Church in Sedgewickville, Mo. On Sept. 1, 1935, she married William August Zickfield, who preceded her in death Oct. 12, 1981. In 1939, they created a partnership to establish Zickfield's Jewelry in downtown Cape Girardeau. Zickfield's Jewelry is now Cape Girardeau's oldest family-owned and operated business. She continued to be active as bookkeeper until well into her 90s.

Maxine was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau. Besides her Lord and family, her true loves were her piano, birds and gardening. In her later years, she traveled extensively with her dear friends Millie Strom and Mildred Mueller.

In addition to her parents and beloved husband, she was preceded in death by brothers Hal and Glenn Isley; and a sister, Ruby Seabaugh.
