Maxine Swanner, 75, of Brookland, Ark., died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, at Northeast Arkansas Medical Center in Jonesboro.
She was born Nov. 22, 1929, in Greenwood, Ind., daughter of Ruben and Lucy Reynolds Whittaker. She and J.D. Swanner were married Sept. 30, 1946, in Sikeston, Mo.
Swanner was formerly of Cape Girardeau. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church in Jonesboro.
Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Terry Roberts of Harrisburg, Ark., Sandra Swanner and Hope Phillips of Paragould, Ark.; a son, Donald Swanner of Jonesboro; four sisters, Doris Betty of Oak Ridge, Retha Popp, Peggy Blaylock and Antoinette "Toni" McLain, all of Cape Girardeau; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Langford-Bookout Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with Larry Gibson officiating. Burial will be in Harrisburg Memorial Park.
