Maxine Powell Medley, 74 years of age, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri passed away Sunday, Jan. 2nd, 2000 at the Lutheran Home. She was born on Feb. 19th, 1925 in Butler County, Alabama. Daughter of the late Arthur Henry and Annie Sue Joyner Powell.

On November the 23rd, she married Harold F. Wyrosdick. They were married in the state of Mississippi and he passed away in 1965. On August 29th, 1969 she married Donal I. Medley in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau also a member of Senior Adult 1 Sunday School Class.

She was a graduate of the Georgianna Alabama High School in 1942. She moved to Mobile, Alabama and worked for the Alabama Drydocks and Ship building Company. Later worked for the Gulf, Mobile and Ohio Railroad until 1957. Then she moved to Cape Girardeau in 1960 and operated the Service Electrical Contracting Company. She then later worked for the Cape Public School System and the Sheltered Workshop retiring in 1974.

Survivors include: Her husband, retired Lt. Colonel Donal Medley, of Cape Girardeau; a son and daughter in law, Major Mark and Kathy Wyrosdick of Swansea, Ill.; 2 grandchildren: Margaret Rose Wyrosdick of Swansea, Ill.; Mark P. Wyrosdick, II of Swansea, Ill.; 1 step granddaughter, Jovanna D. Maurer of Swansea, Ill.; 2 brothers, Harold and Wendel Powers of Greenville, Alabama; 2 sisters, Jean Alverson of Mobile, Alabama; Bonnie Clements of Trenton, Ga. She was preceded in death by one brother, Helton Powell.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 5th at 10 a.m., at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn with Dr. John Owen officiating. With entombment in Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Visitation will be Tuesday, jan. 4th at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn chapel from 4-8 p.m. Family requests memorials to the American Lung Association.
