WARE, Ill. -- Mrs. Maxine R. McLane, 81, of Ware died Saturday, March 27, 2010, at her home. She was born June 6, 1928, in St. Louis, the daughter of Ervin and Mary Steward Rogers. She married Henry M. McLane on Oct. 10, 1948, in Jonesboro, Ill...

WARE, Ill. -- Mrs. Maxine R. McLane, 81, of Ware died Saturday, March 27, 2010, at her home.

She was born June 6, 1928, in St. Louis, the daughter of Ervin and Mary Steward Rogers. She married Henry M. McLane on Oct. 10, 1948, in Jonesboro, Ill.

She was a member of the Ware United Methodist Church and the Ninety-Niner's Aviation Club and was a licensed pilot. She was also a member of the Anna-Jonesboro Garden Club, Union County Retired Teachers' Association, Illinois Education Association and the National Education Association.

She was an elementary school teacher for many years and she enjoyed traveling with her husband, Henry, throughout the United States.

She is survived by her husband, Henry McLane of Ware; two sons, Michael (Debbie) McLane of Jonesboro, Ill., and Mitchel (Amy) McLane of Ware; eight grandchildren, Christopher McLane, Michaella Campbell, Gretchin Emrick, J.D. Emrick, Heather Goins, Patrick McLane, Drew McLane and Koby McLane; four great-grandchildren, Madison Goins, Matthew McLane, Kylie Campbell and Connor McLane; two sisters, Ervina (Donald) Johnson of Jonesboro and Sue (Scott) Abney of Lafayette, Ind.; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Armand and Richard Rogers.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with the Rev. Stephanie Voss officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Burial will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Ware United Methodist Church or TIP Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
