PARMA -- Maxine M. Sisler, 84, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Parma and Wardell, died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998, at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis. She was born Aug. 9, 1913, at Romney, W.Va., daughter of Ellis H. and Gertrude Sanders Patterson. On Jan. 1, 1943, she married the Rev. George Edward Sisler. He died Sept. 4, 1974, while pastor of the First Baptist Church in Parma...

PARMA -- Maxine M. Sisler, 84, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Parma and Wardell, died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998, at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis.

She was born Aug. 9, 1913, at Romney, W.Va., daughter of Ellis H. and Gertrude Sanders Patterson.

On Jan. 1, 1943, she married the Rev. George Edward Sisler. He died Sept. 4, 1974, while pastor of the First Baptist Church in Parma.

She moved to Memphis in 1974 where she lived until her death. She was a member of the Southland Baptist Church in Memphis.

She is survived by a daughter, Janet Gualt of Memphis; two brothers, Robert Patterson of Burlington, W.Va., and Ellis Patterson of Romney; a sister, Ruth Shumaker of Burlington; and a granddaughter.

Graveside funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Letner-Rowe Cemetery in Wardell, with the Rev. Jody Duncan officiating.

Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Parma is in charge of funeral arrangements.
