DONGOLA, Ill. -- Maxine "Mickey" Etherton, 86, of Dongola died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2008, at her home.
She was born Aug. 2, 1922, to Robert and Lillie Maloney Givens. She and Earl Etherton were married Sept. 6, 1942, in Cape Girardeau.
Etherton assisted her husband in the operation of their business, Etherton Trucking, for many years. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Dongola.
Survivors include two sons, Bob Etherton of Germantown, Tenn., Jim Etherton of Dongola; a brother, Jay Givens of South Bend, Wash.; a sister, Charlene Fykerud of Raymond, Wash.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, Ill.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Timothy Heinecke officiating.
Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Carbondale, Ill.
