Maxine Boren, 93, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Oct. 29, 2020, at the Lutheran Home.

She was born Sept. 6, 1927, in Cape Girardeau to Emil and Malinda Oberbeck Busch.

She and Gerald Gene Boren were married Dec. 27, 1947, at Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death Oct. 1, 2015.

She was a graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School in 1945. She organized the class reunions for 1944 and 1945.

She was a secretary for various offices in Cape Girardeau, retiring in 1985 from Kerber Eck & Braeckel after 25 years.

Her hobbies included cross stitching, gardening and spending time with her grandkids.

She was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include a son, Steven (Beverly) Boren of Cape Girardeau; daughter-in-law, Vickie Boren of St. Louis; four grandchildren, Courtney (Clay) Landgraf of Jackson, Stephanie (Bryan) Wessell of Jackson, Jeremy (Katie) Boren of St. Louis and Jeff (Jillian) Boren of St. Louis; nine great-grandchildren, Chase Wessell, Aidan Wessell, Ava Wessell, Mason Landgraf, Kellan Landgraf, Piper Landgraf, Max Boren, Milo Boren and Evie Boren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Nick Boren; two brothers; and a sister.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31 at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
