Maxine Amlingmeyer, 85, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2002, at Ratliff Care Center.
She was born Jan. 1, 1917, in Rutherford, Tenn., daughter of E.D. and Eloyse Perkins Gravette. She and Howard Amlingmeyer were married Sept. 3, 1939, in Rutherford. He died Sept. 22, 1983.
Amlingmeyer had lived in Cape Girardeau since 1939. She operated Miss Maxine Daycare about 20 years, retiring in 1971. She was a member of Federated Women's Club, First Presbyterian Church and its women's circle, and was a volunteer 10 years with Southeast Missouri Hospital Auxiliary.
Survivors include two sons, Ned Amlingmeyer of Boonville, Ind., John Amlingmeyer of Paducah, Ky.; a daughter, Joan Gohn of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Martha McCullar and Madge Arrington of Rutherford; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home after noon today.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Paul Kabo Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
