Maxie Lee McKenzie, daughter of the late John and Arpy Wireman Neely, was born June 11, 1934, in Springfork, Kentucky, and departed this life Sunday June 14, 2020, at the Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau at the age of 86 years.
On Oct. 30, 1955, she was united in marriage to Eldon Dale McKenzie, who preceded her in death Nov. 9, 2010.
Survivors include a daughter, Nelda Eichhorn of Chaffee, Missouri; sons, William Bruce McKenzie of Cape Girardeau, Larry Dale McKenzie of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Robert Daniel McKenzie of Marietta, Georgia; sisters, Reba Horn of Crossville, Tennessee, Sarah Newton and Jane Spencer, both of Ohio, and Jeanne Parish of Indiana; brother, Dan Neely of Texas; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Arthur, Robert and Junior Neely, and a sister, Ruth Spear.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the sanctuary of the Church of God in Chaffee. Officiating will be Robert McKenzie and Betty Reed. There will be a private burial at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
