SIKESTON, Mo. -- Maxie Alton Graviett, 82, of Sikeston died Tuesday, April 29, 2003, in the Emergency Room at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 11, 1920, in Fayetteville, Ark., daughter of Clarence Lee and Mary Lou Evans Graviett.

Graviett was a retired carpenter.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Survivors include two sons, Ronald Graviett of Bloomfield, Mo., Tom Graviett of Lewisville, Texas; two sisters, Lucille Stigall of San Antonio, Texas, Eloise Roth of Cape Girardeau; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, three brothers, and a sister.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran, Mo., after 9 a.m. Saturday.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Jerry Adams officiating. Burial will be in Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
