SIKESTON -- Max T. Chandler Sr., 80, of Tucson, Ariz., died Friday, April 7, 1995, at Tucson Medical Center, following an extended illness.
Formerly of Sikeston, he was born Nov. 27, 1914, at Senath, son of Charles Elmer and Ivy Richie Chandler. He and Mildred "Millie" Jaggers were married Sept. 15, 1940, in Augusta, Ark.
The family moved from Sikeston in 1976. While here he was a member and past president of Sikeston Rotary and Kiwanis Clubs, former member of Sikeston Public School Board of Education Advisory Board, and member of Hunter Memorial Presbyterian Church. He had worked with the Boy Scouts in Sikeston and with the Okeechobee District Boy Scout Council in Southeast Missouri.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Max Chandler Jr. of Fremont, Calif.; a daughter, Valerie Parlow of Tucson; a sister, Helen Green of Senath, and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, brother and sister.
There is no visitation or funeral service.
Private inurnment will be held later at Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Ken Jarvis officiating.
