BENTON -- Max Mayfield, 62, of Fort Myers, Fla., died Saturday, March 25, 2000, at his home.
He was born Jan. 10, 1938, at Benton, son of J.E. and Iva Lincoln Mayfield.
Mayfield was a graduate of Kelly High School and Southeast Missouri State University.
He had been a teacher at Advance High School and in St. Louis County. He moved to Florida 25 years ago from Benton. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Benton.
Survivors include two sisters, Verla Wooldridge of Benton and Imogene Davis of Wentzville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. April 8 at Unity Baptist Church. The Rev. Dale Huff will officiate.
