OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Maurice M. Browning, 61, of Olive Branch died Monday, Dec. 23, 1991, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Maurice M. Browning, 61, of Olive Branch died Monday, Dec. 23, 1991, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Feb. 24, 1930, at Olive Branch, the son of the late Arlie and Eva Gettings Browning. On Dec. 25, 1948, he married Rita Lee Isom, who survives of the home.

He was a member of Trinity Assembly of God Church in Olive Branch and a board member of the Dodge Library. For the past 11 years, he worked at the Cairo Adult School and he previously worked for 15 years as manager of the Pulaski-Alexander Farm Bureau. He also was a veteran of the Korean War.

Other survivors include a daughter, Deborah Trout of Terre Haute, Ind.; three sons, Michael Browning of Ste. Genevieve, Stephen Browning of Panama City, Panama and Mark Browning of Ft. Wainright, Alaska; three brothers, Enos, Ernest and Clearn Browning, all of Olive Branch; two sisters, Zelma Caldwell of Thebes and Mary Browning of Olive Branch; and eight grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by two brothers.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Assembly of God Church, with the Rev. Richard Hart officiating. Burial will be in the Olive Branch Cemetery.
