ORAN, Mo. -- Maude Miller Hodges, 100, of Oran died at 2:45 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was born Sept. 2, 1900, in Benton, Mo., daughter of the late Jesse and Maria Louise Cloar Miller. She and Carl Hodges were married Dec. 23, 1923. He preceded her in death Oct. 16, 1994...

ORAN, Mo. -- Maude Miller Hodges, 100, of Oran died at 2:45 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Sept. 2, 1900, in Benton, Mo., daughter of the late Jesse and Maria Louise Cloar Miller. She and Carl Hodges were married Dec. 23, 1923. He preceded her in death Oct. 16, 1994.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Oran. She was a lifelong resident of Scott County, with ancestors being pioneers of Cape Girardeau, Benton, and surrounding areas.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Ella Louise Hanley of Moberly, Mo., Hattie Mae and Alfred Benefield of Oran; four sons and daughters-in-law, Omer and Christine Hodges and Clinton and Doris Hodges of Oran, Jack and Rose Marie Hodges of Houston, Texas, Ray and Barbara Hodges of Paducah, Ky.; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a grandson, and recently her son-in-law, Vernon Hanley.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran from 5-8 p.m. today.

Service is scheduled at 2 p.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church in Oran, with the Rev. Karen Taylor and the Rev. Earl Statler officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens at Morley, Mo.
