Maude Buzbee

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Maude P. Buzbee, 94, of Carbondale, formerly of Anna, Ill., died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007, at Oak Grove Rehab and Care Center in Carbondale.

She was born Feb. 27, 1912, in Union County, Ill., daughter of Will and Rhoda Wall Pender. She and Delbert Pierce Buzbee were married June 14, 1930 at Westfield, Ill. He died Feb. 15, 1997.

Buzbee was a member of the First Baptist Church in Anna. She sang in the church choir and performed many duet and quartet selections.

Survivors include a son, Ken Buzbee of Makanda, Ill.,; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a stillborn son, four sisters, two half brothers and a half sister.

Friends may call after 11 a.m. Tuesday until 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Anna. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. at the church, with the Rev. Tony Foeller officiating.

Interment will be in the Anna Cemetery.
