Mattie Kathryn Retherford Reavis, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Dec. 5, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center. She was born Oct. 23, 1915, in Lilbourn, daughter of Charles and Ethel Jones Calhoun. She married Thomas Cecil Retherford on July 9, 1935. He died June 1974. She married Cloyd Reavis in March 1981. He survives...

Mattie Kathryn Retherford Reavis, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Dec. 5, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center.

She was born Oct. 23, 1915, in Lilbourn, daughter of Charles and Ethel Jones Calhoun. She married Thomas Cecil Retherford on July 9, 1935. He died June 1974. She married Cloyd Reavis in March 1981. He survives.

She worked at the International Shoe Co. and at Lowenbaum Dress Factory. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Also surviving are four sons, Ronald Retherford of Colorado Springs, Colo., Charles and Michael Retherford, both of Cape Girardeau, and David Retherford of Oak Ridge; two stepsons, Richard Reavis of Dongola, Ill., and Cloyd Reavis Jr. of Miami, Fla.; a daughter, Anna Mae Hahn of Marble Hill; three stepdaughters, Kay Reavis of Cape Girardeau , Brenda Schuetz of Belleville, Ill., and Linda Buchheit of Jacksonville, Ark.; a sister, Marie Hilderbrand of Bolivar; two brothers, James and Donald Calhoun, both of Scott City; 11 stepgrandchildren; and seven stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and a sister.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Ford & Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Dr. John Owen officiating.

Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
