DIEHLSTADT -- Mattie Pearl Morrow, a longtime resident of Scott County, died Saturday, July 25, 1998, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. She was 84. She was born April 14, 1914, in Vina, Ala., daughter of Bose and Molcie Lee King Strickland. She married Richard H. Morrow on Sept. 6, 1931. He died Dec. 28, 1992...

DIEHLSTADT -- Mattie Pearl Morrow, a longtime resident of Scott County, died Saturday, July 25, 1998, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. She was 84.

She was born April 14, 1914, in Vina, Ala., daughter of Bose and Molcie Lee King Strickland. She married Richard H. Morrow on Sept. 6, 1931. He died Dec. 28, 1992.

She was a member of the Morley Baptist Church. She had been employed as a cook with the Kelly schools for many years.

She is survived by six sons, Grover Morrow of Diehlstadt, Richard, Ottis, Roger and Danny Morrow, all of Benton, and Michael Morrow of Wappapello; five daughters, Bonnie Ronamowski of Dexter, Ritta Belt, Debbie Hornback and Donna Dixon, all of Sikeston, and Theresa Jones of Morley; four brothers, Morris, Harvey, Orville and James Strickland, all of Vina; four sisters, Nettie Armstrong of Zion, Ill., Una Armstrong, Hettie Lee Pendagrass and Norville Lindley, all of Vina; and 38 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be after 4:30 p.m. today at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday, with the Rev. Dale Huff officiating.

Burial will be at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
