SIKESTON -- Mattie Jackson, 82, of Sikeston died Monday, Feb. 23, 1998, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 26, 1915, in Kosciusko, Miss., daughter of John and Lizzie Dodd Hurn.

Jackson had lived in Sikeston more than 55 years. She was a member of Travelers Rest Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include four daughters, Rosie Hardiman of Danville, Ill., Adell Ivy of Oklahoma City, Okla., Dorothy Walker of Sikeston, Jo Ann McCauley of St. Louis; two sisters, Laura Hines and Ruby Haley of Gilmore, Ark.; two brothers, David Hurn of Forrest City, Ark., Sam Hurn of Milwaukee, Wis.; 36 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at West End Missionary Baptist Church from 7-8 p.m. Friday.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with Pastor Ronald Williams and Elder Anthony Green officiating. Burial will be in Sunset of Memories Cemetery.

Williams-Farr and Purnell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
