PATTON -- Mattie E. Heitman, 86, of Patton died Monday, Sept. 25, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Sept. 26, 1908, at Patton the son of James and Laura Yount Mungle. On March 23, 1929, she married Truman Heitman, who died July 16, 1977.
She and her husband owned and operated a fruit orchard and greenhouse business and Wick Homes. She was a member of Reagan's Chapel United Methodist Church for 70 years. During World War II she worked for Curtis-Wright Aircraft.
Survivors include seven daughters, Velda Pogue, Maxine Fulton, Lauretta Welker and Sharran Seabaugh, all of Patton, Faye Bollinger and Donna Yount, both of Sedgewickville, and Jackie Grindstaff of Ste. Genevieve; three brothers, Glen Mungle of Viburnum and Kent Mungle and Claude Mungle of Patton; two sisters, Edna Reagan and Nancy Heitman of Patton; 23 grandchildren; and 33 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and a grand-daughter.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Patton. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Reagan's Chapel Church. The Rev. W.D. Snyder and the Rev. Stella Turner will officiate, and burial will be in the church cemetery.
