ANNA, Ill. -- Funeral for Mattie Christian of Anna, formerly of Perks, will be held at 2 p.m. today at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola. The Rev. Jim Wilkins will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from noon until service time...

ANNA, Ill. -- Funeral for Mattie Christian of Anna, formerly of Perks, will be held at 2 p.m. today at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola. The Rev. Jim Wilkins will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from noon until service time.

Christian, 90, died Thursday, July 29, 1999, at Union County Hospital.

She was born Aug. 14, 1908, in Union County, daughter of Henry Grant and Amy I. Hartline Peeler. She and Sherman Christian were married March 19, 1932. He died Feb. 9, 1976.

Christian was a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church at Perks.

Survivors include nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.
