MaryBelle Elizabeth Jenkins, 89, of Cape Girardeau, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 1997, at Fountainbleau Lodge. She was born Sept. 19, 1907, at Cape Girardeau, son of John Joseph and Anna Katherine Hauptman McGinnis. She and Ernest Lilbourn Jenkins were married Nov. 28, 1935 at Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death Dec. 22, 1983...

MaryBelle Elizabeth Jenkins, 89, of Cape Girardeau, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 1997, at Fountainbleau Lodge.

She was born Sept. 19, 1907, at Cape Girardeau, son of John Joseph and Anna Katherine Hauptman McGinnis. She and Ernest Lilbourn Jenkins were married Nov. 28, 1935 at Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death Dec. 22, 1983.

Jenkins was a homemaker and a member of the St. Vincent De Paul's Church. She was member of the former Carpenter Ladies Auxiliary. She attended St. Mary's and Kage Grade School. She was a former member of St. Ann's Sodality at St. Mary's Church. She was on the Women's Council at St. Vincent's Church.

Survivors include a son, Ken Jenkins of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Linda Rechtin of Cape Girardeau; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one brother and one half brother; and two sisters.

Friends may call Monday from 4-8 p.m., at Ford and Son's Sprigg Street Chapel. Family visitation will be at 3 p.m. Monday. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m.

Funeral service will be at St. Vincent De Paul Church Tuesday at 10 a.m. The Rev. Milton Ryan will officiate with burial to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
