Mary Katherine Wissmann, 95, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, June 22, 2017, at Monticello House in Jackson, surrounded by her family.

She was born March 19, 1922, in Oriole to Monroe and Myrtle Comer McLain. She and Jesse Eugene Wissmann were married Aug. 17, 1940, in Jackson.

Mary was a longtime member of Red Star Baptist Church. She worked in the food business all of her life, retiring from the University Center at Southeast Missouri State University.

She is survived by two sons, Paul Wayne (Margaret) Wissmann and Mark (Linda) Wissmann of Jackson; brother, Jack (Jean) McLain of Cape Girardeau; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jesse; 11 brothers and sisters; daughter, Fern Hency; sons, Donnie and Zane Wissmann; and two grandchildren, Brad Hency and Penny Rodgers.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will follow at Lorimier Cemetery.

The family would like to send a special thanks to all who visited her, all the nurses and staff of Southeast Hospice and the wonderful nurses and staff for all of their loving care and support at Monticello House.
