POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Mary Elizabeth Winchester, 82, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died peacefully in her sleep Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019, at her home in Poplar Bluff.
She was born Sept. 13, 1936, in Cape Girardeau County to Floyd and Amy McNeely Bond. She and Bob Winchester were married Dec. 29, 1957, at Foursquare Gospel Church in Cape Girardeau.
Mary Elizabeth was a 1957 graduate of College High School.
She worked for Weight Watchers in Poplar Bluff for 10 years.
She was a member of Assembly of God in Poplar Bluff. She was very involved in her church, which included teaching Sunday school. She was also an active volunteer in the community.
Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Bob Winchester of Poplar Bluff; two daughters, Stephanie (Steve) Hardesty of Perryville, Missouri, and Beth (Darin) Wadley of Cape Girardeau; a son, Randy (Nancy) Winchester of Springfield, Illinois; two sisters, Linda Townsend of Jacksonville, Florida, and Brenda (Ned) Doza of Jackson; a brother, Tommy Bond; five grandchildren, Drew and Summer Wadley and Sienna, Chase (Kayla) and Mariah Winchester; and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Craig Winchester; and three siblings, Bill, Ada and Shirley.
Friends may call between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ronnie Winchester officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
