Mary VanMatre, 64, of Republic, Mo., died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008, at her home. She was born July 26, 1944, at Delta, daughter of Melvin and Viola Sylvia Lusk Surface. She married Bobby VanMatre. Survivors include her husband; a son, Kelly VanMatre of Mount Vernon, Mo.; her mother of Cape Girardeau; five sisters, Patsy Toombs and Nancy McIntyre of Cape Girardeau, Judy Crain and Joyce Metcalf of Delta, Linda Wells of Jackson; two brothers, Melvin Surface Jr. ...

She was born July 26, 1944, at Delta, daughter of Melvin and Viola Sylvia Lusk Surface. She married Bobby VanMatre.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Kelly VanMatre of Mount Vernon, Mo.; her mother of Cape Girardeau; five sisters, Patsy Toombs and Nancy McIntyre of Cape Girardeau, Judy Crain and Joyce Metcalf of Delta, Linda Wells of Jackson; two brothers, Melvin Surface Jr. of Delta, Marvin Surface of Leopold, Mo.; and four grandsons.
