Mary Clementine Tripp passed away Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022, at Brookdale Senior Living Center in Cleveland, Tennessee.
Formerly of Cape Girardeau, she was born Dec. 4, 1942, in Jefferson City, the daughter of Joseph J. and Phyllis E. Bollinger. Mary married Donald Eugene Tripp on Oct. 12, 1967, in Benton. He preceded her in death June 9, 2018, after 51 years of marriage.
A graduate of Thomas W. Kelly High School in Benton, Missouri, she pursued a career as a clerk and legal secretary, retiring from the Oliver Firm in 2010. She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral Parish in Cape Girardeau and attended Old St. Vincent's Catholic Church, previously serving as director of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults process.
A dedicated quilter, she belonged to the River City Heritage Quilt Guild and shared her art for charity and with family and supported Honor Quilts for Veterans. She was a long-time member of the Southeast Missouri Association of Legal Secretaries.
She is survived by her sister, Brenda Blevins (the late Bob) of Cleveland; brother, Daniel J. (Lynn) Bollinger of Loganville, Georgia; nieces, Melinda (Joe Jr.) Kirk of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Elizabeth Lee Ingram (John Thornton) of Covington, Georgia; nephews, Jason (Michelle) Blevins of Holly Springs, Georgia, and Daniel J. (Sunny) Bollinger II of Lilburn, Georgia; and beloved nephew, Chuck (Nancy) Ross of Cape Girardeau.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Old St. Vincent's Catholic Church with the River City Heritage Quilt Guild acting as honorary pallbearers. Officiating will be the Rev. Allan Saunders.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Old St. Vincent's Catholic Church, the Alzheimer's Association or your favorite charity are suggested.
