MARBLE HILL -- Henry Joseph Thele, 83, of Marble Hill died Thursday, June 10, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Sept. 14, 1915, near Leopold, son of Joseph and Willimenia Elfrink Thele. He and Hazel Mary Bullard were married Sept. 3, 1938, at Webster Groves.
Thele was a retired farmer. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, and 3rd Degree member of St. Isidore Council 5898 Knights of Columbus, both in Leopold.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Wendell Thele of St. Louis; three sisters, Anne Kieffer of O'Fallon, Loretta Aschoff of Carterville, Genevia Elfrink of Leopold; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son and two sisters.
Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from 4-8 p.m. Saturday, and Sunday from 3-8 p.m. Parish prayers and the KC rosary will be at 6 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John's Church, with Msgr. Edward Eftink and the Rev. Bill Huggins officiating. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery.
