Mary L. Stone, 75, of Jackson passed away Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023, at Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Aug. 27, 1947, in Bollinger County, Missouri, to Earl and Ruth Eaker Tipton. She and Larry Stone were married Sept. 11, 1965, in Lutesville, Missouri.

Mary was a graduate of Woodland High School. She earned a cosmetology license at the former beauty school in Jackson, and worked 10 years as a stylist in Cape Girardeau.

Mary enjoyed playing the piano and canvas painting, was an excellent cook and enjoyed her home immensely. She was a member of Arts Council of Southeast Missouri.

Loving survivors include her husband of 57 years, Larry Stone of Jackson; their fur babies, Gracie, Bug and Zeus; a brother, Lynn (Linda) Tipton of San Antonio; Larry's sister, Linda Shiverdeck of Jackson; nieces, Ruthie Tipton of San Antonio and Selina (Richard) Stone of Arkansas; and nephews, Darin (Kelly) Shiverdeck of Jackson and Lenny (Annie) Tipton of San Antonio.

She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Raymond Earl Tipton, and her parents.

The Rev. Sam Roethemeyer will conduct a private service at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to SEMO Pets, formerly Humane Society of Southeast Missouri.

Arrangements are by McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
