Mary Steward

ANNISTON, Mo. -- Mary A. Steward, 80, of Anniston died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Feb. 4, 1924, at Bragg City, Mo., daughter of Alvin and Lena McKinley Myrick. She and Vester "Stud" Steward were married Feb. 27, 1948, at East Prairie, Mo. He died Nov. 16, 1996.

Steward was employed 31 years at Brown Shoe Co. in Charleston, Mo., retiring Feb. 4, 1986.

Survivors include two daughters, Jeannie Thurman and Sharon Harvell of Anniston; four brothers, Forrest "Buddy" Myrick of Sikeston, Mo., Lyndon "Runt" Myrick of East Prairie, Ronald Myrick of Anniston, John Myrick of El Paso, Texas; a sister, Lena Brown of Anniston; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, with Martin Lucas officiating. Burial will be in Anniston Cemetery.
