BERTRAND, Mo. -- Mary Sue Medlin Stevens, 66, of Bertrand died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born June 20, 1936, at Bernie, Mo., daughter of James Henry and Sara Elizabeth Boyt Stephens.
Stevens retired as a cook at Gaslight Square. She was formerly of Benton, Ky., and a member of Pleasant Hope Baptist Church there. She lived in Dexter, Mo., several years and worked at Elder Manufacturing.
Survivors include a son, Stan Medlin of Cape Girardeau; three brothers, Vondis Stephens of Wyatt, Mo., Jimmy Stephens of Bethalto, Ill., Phillip Stephens of Roxana, Ill.; two sisters, Deloma Barber of Sikeston, Mo., Janie Stephens of East Prairie, Mo.; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son.
Friends may call at Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Joe McCullough officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Ark.
