HAYWOOD CITY -- Mary Alice "Hat" Stevens, 67, of Haywood City died Monday, Feb. 10, 1997, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
She was born Dec. 16, 1929, in Shuqualak, Miss., daughter of Lurean Hardin and Harry Jones. She and John Henry Stevens were married in 1949.
Survivors include four sons, Henry and Romey Stevens of Haywood City, Lee Stevens of Worthington, Ohio, Mack Stevens of Austin, Texas; three daughters, Ida Wilkins of Haywood City, Ruth Wilson of Hollywood, Calif., and Evelyn Williams of St. Louis.
She is also survived by four brothers, Kenny and Sammie Jones of Sikeston, Harry Jones Jr. of La Vergne, Tenn., Willie Jones of Cape Girardeau; eight sisters, Susie Haney, Mary Glover and Mattie Fort of St. Louis, Louise Wiley and Estella Sharp of Haywood City, Estus Jeffery of Paducah, Ky., Alberta Davis of Mt. Vernon, N.Y., Rosie Lewis of Sikeston; 16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter.
Friends may call at New Morning Star Church from 6-8 p.m. Friday.
Funeral service will be at noon Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Haywood Cemetery.
