ANNA, Ill. -- Mary Ellen Stevens, 97, of Anna died Thursday, Jan. 9, 1997, at her home. She was born Feb. 11, 1899, in Harrisburg, daughter of Charlie and Eva Ann Dunn Oatman. ANNA, Ill. -- Mary Ellen Stevens, 97, of Anna died Thursday, Jan. 9, 1997, at her home.

She was born Feb. 11, 1899, in Harrisburg, daughter of Charlie and Eva Ann Dunn Oatman. She and Glen George Stevens were married in 1935. He died in 1979.

Stevens was a member of First Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include two nephews, Dr. John Wells of Anna, Robert Kennedy of Brighton, Mich.; and a niece, Mary Wilson of Valdosta, Ga.

She was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.

Burial will be at a later date in the rose garden of Roser Memorial Church in Anna Maria, Fla.

Crain Funeral Home of Anna is in charge of arrangements.
