Mary Sowers

ANNA, Ill. -- Mary M. Sowers, 92, of Anna died Thursday, July 3, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, Ill.

She was born July 8, 1910, in Elco, Ill., daughter of Peter A. and Sarah Poole Cruse. She and Truman Sowers were married March 3, 1920, and he died June 21, 1965.

She was a cook at a nursing home and a member of the Beech Grove Methodist Church in Ullin, Ill.

Survivors include one son, Herman Sowers of Olive Branch, Ill., one daughter, June and Owen McIntosh of Morton, Ill.; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Crain Funeral Home in Anna and on Monday until service time.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Goins officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in Dongola, Ill.
