MARY SMIDDY

REYNOLDSVILLE, Ill. -- Funeral service for Mary Smiddy of Reynoldsville will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hileman and Parr Funeral Chapel in Jonesboro. The Rev. Raymond Oxford will officiate, with burial in Goodbread Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Friday.

Smiddy, 82, died Tuesday, June 11, 1996, at Union County Hospital in Anna.

She was born Feb. 8, 1914, in Gorham, daughter of James and Judith Moschenrose Glidewell. She and Rudolph Smiddy were married Aug. 20, 1932, in Jonesboro.

Smiddy was a member of Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Leon Smiddy of Collinsville; three sisters, Emily Franklin of Anna, Ernestine Vogelman of Gorham, Kathryn Spillman of Dupo; two grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother.
