Mary Elizabeth (Baxter) Scott, 64, of Jackson passed away Sunday, July 30, 2017, at her home in Jackson. Mary was born Sept. 24, 1952, in Monterey, Missouri. She was the daughter of Ralph P. and Nina L. (Thompson) Baxter. On April 29, 1972, in Granite City, Illinois, Mary was united in marriage to Michael W. Mary Elizabeth (Baxter) Scott, 64, of Jackson passed away Sunday, July 30, 2017, at her home in Jackson.

Mary was born Sept. 24, 1952, in Monterey, Missouri. She was the daughter of Ralph P. and Nina L. (Thompson) Baxter.

On April 29, 1972, in Granite City, Illinois, Mary was united in marriage to Michael W. Scott Sr. They had shared over 45 years of marriage together at the time of her death.

Mary is survived by her husband, Mike Scott of the home, and her children, Cheri Foster and husband Timothy, Michael Scott Jr., Christopher Scott and wife LeighAnn, NiJeatte Stout and husband James David, Katreen Scott and James Scott.

Also surviving are 22 grandchildren, Steven A. Nolkemper, Brandon M. Scott, Cassidie D. Svhela, Destiney M. Scott, Brittany E.K. Foster, Ashlee M. Legrand, Hannah M. Stout, Hunter B. Scott, Dalton T. Scott, Meggan E.A. Stout, Breanna K.M. Foster, Faith A. Sides, Mayce R.A. Stout, Emma G. Stout, Alexzander K. Scott, Jordan C. Scott, Rebeca N. Scott, Dominic M. Scott, Kyley B.A. Stout, Kaci A. Scott, Kynten B. Stout and Hailey M. Hollowell; five great-grandsons, Eli Owen Scott, Colton J.L. Robinson, Cooper B. Maloney, Waylen L. Cochran and Hayden C.L. Hernandez; her brother, Ralph Baxter; along with numerous other relatives and friends. Mary was anxiously awaiting the birth of two more great-grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Nina Baxter; two brothers, Jim and Leroy Baxter; one stillborn sister; and two grandsons, Tyler Ryan and Spencer Scott.

Mary was a loving and devoted wife and helpmate to her husband, Mike, and a caring, wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her children and their families. She was a devoted housewife and enjoyed spending her days baking, sewing and crafting for her family and friends. She was especially fond of taking care of all her grandbabies and baking special treats for her family.

Mary was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Funeral service will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Joshua Schmidt officiating. Graveside service and interment will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Old St. Patrick's Cemetery in Laurie, Missouri.

Memorial donations are suggested to the Breast Cancer Foundation.
