MARY SCHERER

ORAN -- Mary Augusta Scherer of Oran died Saturday, Jan. 3, 1998, at Christian Hospital Northeast in St. Louis. She was 87.

She was born Nov. 13, 1910, in New Hamburg, the daughter of Benedict and Elizabeth Scherer. She was a homemaker and a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran. She also held memberships in St. Ann's Sodality and Oran Senior Citizens Club.

She is survived by a sister, Philomena Jacob of St. Louis, and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Friends may call at 4 p.m. Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran, with parish prayers at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Guardian Angel Catholic Church, with the Rev. Lewis Hejna officiating. Burial will follow at St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery in New Hamburg.
