CHAFFEE, Mo. -- The good Lord our God only made one Mary Rose, and we're awfully glad he did. Mary Rose Pobst, 81, of Chaffee passed away Monday, May 6, 2013, at her home, surrounded by her loving and adoring family. She will be spending Mother's Day in the arms of her heavenly father, as requested by her children.

She was born July 5, 1931, in Chaffee to Forrest and Virginia Belk Finch. She married Clifford Pobst on April 2, 1949, in Toledo, Ohio.

Mary Rose was a sweet and dear person to all who were blessed to know her. She was full of life and lived it to the fullest. She also enjoyed playing cards, reading books, quilting and doing puzzles.

She wrote and published a book of genealogy, Descendants of Joseph Pobst. Mary Rose was an example to all of a true Christian woman -- a loyal friend, a devoted mother and grandmother, and an active member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee.

She is gone from here, but she always will be in our hearts, and we have our memories of her and her words of wisdom to continue to guide us through all the challenges that daily life brings. We will continue to ask all sorts of questions, from "where are the cherries in the store?" to geography and history questions, to "who was this person and how are we related?" And we know we'll still get answers.

Loving survivors include her husband, Clifford of Chaffee; six daughters, Diana Wood (Steve) of Kansas City, Mo., Sandy (Eddie) Robinson of Louisville, Ky., Vicki (Keith) Keller of Gordonville, Ginny (Ken) Ruiz of Chaffee, Mary (Louis) Evans of Scott City and Lisa (Richard) Loree of Kansas City; two sons, Mark (Tina) Pobst and Shawn (Sherry) Pobst of Chaffee.
