Mary Howard Palmer, 74, of Summerville, S.C., widow of Jesse Leon Palmer Jr., died Thursday, May 10, 2007, at her home.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Dorchester Memory Gardens, 11000 Dorchester Road, Summerville.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. to service time Sunday at the graveside.
Mrs. Palmer was born March 14, 1933, in Manilla, Ark., daughter of the late Lonnie Fred Howard and Lottie M. Cutright Howard Russell.
She attended school in Gosnell, Ark., and was a homemaker. She enjoyed fishing and cooking. She took care of the elderly and raised several children other than her own.
Surviving are sons and daughters, Raymond Neal Kimbrell of North Charleston, S.C., Garlett G. Palmer Avery of Suffolk, Va., Debra D. Palmer Lynch of Benton, Mo., Susan E. Palmer Armstrong of New Albany, Miss., Jesse Scott Palmer III of Summerville, Thomas Paul Palmer Sr. of Moncks Corner, S.C., Amanda Palmer Chinners of Summerville; 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild; a brother, Robert Howard of Caldwell, Kan.; a brother-in-law, William "Bill" Palmer of Bakersfield, Calif.; sisters-in-law, Gerri Palmer Perry of Victorsville, Calif., and Shirley Alexander of Kissimmee, Fla.
She was preceded by a brother, Fred Howard.
