CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Mary Genevieve Nenninger, 97, formerly of Cape Girardeau and wife of the late Glenn H. Nenninger, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, at Sunrise Charlotte Assisted Living in Charlotte, N.C.
Born July 13, 1910, at Charleston, Mo., Mrs. Nenninger was the daughter of the late Ollie Thomas and Agnes Worland Bradford. She and Glenn H. Nenninger were married June 19, 1934, at St. Mary's Cathedral and he preceded her in death March 17, 1999.
She was a graduate of Diehlstadt High School and of the Cape Girardeau Business College. She was employed as a bookkeeper at the Missourian Printing and Stationery Co. until her marriage. From 1967 to 1983 she worked as a secretary for St. Mary's Cathedral.
Mrs. Nenninger is survived by four sons, Ed Nenninger and wife Kathy of Charlotte, N.C., Tom Nenninger and wife Sandi of Plano, Texas, Garet Nenninger and wife Kathie of League City, Texas, and Mark Nenninger and wife Mary of Hamilton, Ohio; two daughters, Jenny Richardson and husband Jim of Clemson, S.C., and Miriam and Kirk Hankins of Columbia, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bertram Murphy of Peyton, Colo.
She was preceded in death by her infant daughter Janice, and brothers Thomas, Ollie Jay and Omer.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel, with parish prayers at 7 p.m.
There will be a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Cathedral, with Father Tom Kiefer officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
