Mary Margaret Miller, 96, of Sylva, N.C., formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Saturday, June 27, 2009, at Morningstar Assisted Living in Sylva.
She was born Aug. 27, 1912, in Gary, Ind., the daughter of Thomas and Viola Hudson Norton.
She married Lester Leroy Miller on Aug. 25, 1930. They had been married 51 years when Lester passed away in 1982. A longtime resident of Cape Girardeau, she sold Storybook Dolls in Missouri for 30 years and was affectionately known as "The Doll Lady."
She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau before moving to North Carolina in 2004.
Survivors include a son, Melvin Lee Miller, wife Chris, of Franklin, N.C.; a daughter, Patsy Lewis, husband Ron, of Mustang, Okla.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister; her oldest son, David Lester Miller of Cape Girardeau; and a great-granddaughter, Jamie Case of St. Louis.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating.
Interment will be in City Cemetery in Jonesboro, Ill.
