MARY MELVIN

Mary Virginia Taylor Melvin, formerly of Bonne Terre, died Tuesday, May 18, 1999, at Heartland Care Rehab Center. She was 71.

She was born Dec. 31, 1927, in Philadelphia, Pa., daughter of Ken and Mary Taylor. She married Samuel Melvin in 1963 in Chicago, Ill. He died July 4, 1998.

She had been a homemaker and was a member of the Esther Methodist Church in Esther and Joy Bells of the church.

She is survived by her daughter, Sylvia Ann Melvin of Cape Girardeau; a son, David Melvin of Springfield; and two brothers, Jack Taylor of David City, Calif., and Ben Taylor of Lancaster, Pa.

A sister preceded her in death.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel, with Ken and Nancy Strong officiating.
