SCOTT CITY -- Mary Magdalen McSwain, 79, of Scott City died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 1997, at her home.
She was born Dec. 22, 1918, at Kelso, daughter of Louis Anthony and Catherine Heisserer Burger. She married James L. McSwain on Jan. 1, 1941, at Kelso. He died Jan. 15, 1971.
She was a homemaker and attended the Broadway Methodist Church in Scott City.
Survivors include three sons: David McSwain of St. Louis, Bruce McSwain of Memphis, Tenn., and Danny McSwain of Scott City; a daughter, Carol Ann Innis of Cape Girardeau; three sisters: Estella Hahn of Advance, Vernetta Scherer of Scott City and Anna Dirnberger of Kelso; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and six sisters.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Scott City. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jim King officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
