ANNA, Ill. -- Mary E. McHughes, 81, of Anna died Monday, April 7, 2008, at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, Ill.

She was born April 9, 1926, in Pulaski, Ill., daughter of Loren and Bertha Miles Smith. She and Carl G. McHughes were married Jan. 18, 1945, in Cairo, Ill.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Sharon Hughes of Scott City; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
