Mary Jane Mattes, 95, formerly of Kelso, Missouri, went to her eternal home with Christ on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2020, at the Lutheran Home. She was born Nov. 25, 1924, in Altenburg, Missouri, the daughter of John and Emma Noennig Wichern. She married John Dominic Mattes No. 29, 1947 in Perryville, Missouri. She was the Director of Laundry at St. Francis Hospital for over 20 years retiring in 1989...

Mary Jane Mattes, 95, formerly of Kelso, Missouri, went to her eternal home with Christ on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2020, at the Lutheran Home. She was born Nov. 25, 1924, in Altenburg, Missouri, the daughter of John and Emma Noennig Wichern. She married John Dominic Mattes No. 29, 1947 in Perryville, Missouri. She was the Director of Laundry at St. Francis Hospital for over 20 years retiring in 1989.

She was a member of Eisleben Lutheran Church in Scott City. She dedicated much to the Eisleben Ladies Aide, St. Augustine Ladies Sodality and Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. Mary Jane enjoyed playing cards, building puzzles and crafting.

Loving children include the late Kathleen (Dwight) Seaman of Florissant, Missouri, Wayne (Kathy) Mattes of Cape Girardeau, the late David Mattes and Tina (Leeman) Medlin of Scott City; grandchildren, Kristine Seaman, Craig (Heidi) Seaman and children Nico, Maia, Carter and Maxwell, Michele (David) Lowery and children Kalynn and Savannah, Ryan (Amy) Mattes and children Nicole, Dominic, Kelly and Owen; Rebecca (Kerry) White and children Collin, Connor and Luke, Mark (Carmen) Robinson and children Kaitlyn and Alyssa, Chris (Bridget) Robinson and children Brennan and Charley, Kendra Medlin and son Peyton, Lindsey Medlin and sons Cameron Carter and Laine, Brett Medlin and sons Dante and Felix and Casey Medlin. Also surviving is a sister Velma Davis of Perryville.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City and 8:30 to 10 a.m. Monday at the Eisleben Lutheran Church.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Monday at the church with the Rev. Paul Short officiating.

Burial will be in St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery in Kelso.
