Mary Masters, 92, passed away Friday, Oct. 27, 2023, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, with her family at her side.
She was born in 1930 in Cape Girardeau to Emil and Maude Kies. Mary married Paul Masters in Cape Girardeau, and they were married until his death in 1971. She was active on their farm prior to and after his passing.
She graduated from Jackson High School and Southeast Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education. While at SEMO, she was a member of Tri Sigma. After graduation, she taught at Jackson High School. She retired from Saint Francis Medical Center.
She was an avid reader and a member of La Croix Church. She enjoyed volunteering at Saint Francis Medical Center, being in the outdoors, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her children, Marti, Ann (Gregg) and Bill (Punky); grandchildren, Cole (Sierra), Jonathan and Megan (Hugh); and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, brother and infant brother.
A family graveside service will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be given to charity of choice.
