Mary Loos

Mary R. Loos, 97, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Aug. 9, 2010, at the Lutheran Home.

She was born July 28, 1913, at Naylor, Mo., to Charles P. and Katherine Kirkendoll. She and Henry Loos were married June 2, 1942, at St. Charles, Mo. Henry Loos was a longtime executive with Kraft Foods. He preceded her in death May 31, 2001.

Mary taught at various schools in Southeast Missouri. She was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church and the Republican Women's Club.

Survivors include two sons, Gary Loos of San Acacia, N.M., Tim Loos of Schaumburg, Ill.; three grandchildren, Hillary Salas of Sandia Park, N.M., Allison Loos of Albuquerque, N.M., Megan Loos of Schaumburg; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, Charles Kirkendoll; and a sister, Grace Strubinger.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to service time today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at noon today at the funeral home, with the Rev. Loren Boettcher officiating. Entombment will be in Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Andrew Lutheran Church.
