MARY LEWIS

SIKESTON -- Memorial service for Mary Elizabeth Lewis of Sikeston will be held at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Charles E. Buck officiating.

Ponder Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Lewis, 79, died Tuesday, July 2, 1996, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born July 5, 1916, at Sikeston, daughter of Vance and Dora St. Gemme Montgomery. She and Bruce L. Lewis were married March 14, 1936. He died Feb. 24, 1987.

Lewis had been a volunteer worker at Missouri Delta Medical Center, and member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Bruce Lewis of Kennett, David Lewis of Lake Charles, La., Dale Lewis of St. Louis; a daughter, Patty Jones of Tulsa, Okla.; nine grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister.
