ESSEX -- Mary Evelyn Lankford, 87, of Essex died Friday, April 21, 2000, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center in Dexter.
She was born Aug. 2, 1913, in Essex, daughter of Charles and Nellie Miles Ellis. She and Bryan Lankford were married Nov. 5, 1932, in Essex. He died Dec. 3,1990.
Lankford was a lifelong resident of Essex and attended the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include two sons, James Lankford of Wappapello, Glen Lankford of Bloomfield; two daughters, Mary Stuckey of Medora, Ill., Sheila Hester of Essex; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by six brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. Monday.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Doyle Corlew officiating. Burial will be in Essex Cemetery.
