MARBLE HILL -- Mary L. Hahn, 81, of Marble Hill, died Tuesday, June 16, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born June 6, 1911, at Zalma, daughter of Charles Franklin and Della Rowland Hopkins. She and Lawrence L. (Doc) Hahn were married Aug. 8, 1935, at Patton.

Hahn attended Will Mayfield College here, Southeast Missouri State University, and the University of Missouri-Columbia.

She was a retired public schoolteacher, and held a lifetime teaching certificate. She had also been a teller at Bank of Marble Hill.

Hahn was a member of United Methodist Church here, Alpha Delta Kappa teachers sorority, University of Missouri Alumni Association, Southeast Missouri State University Alumni Association, charter member and past president of Bollinger County Historical Society.

She was instrumental in the relocation and restoration of Massey log house, which is now near the courthouse here. Hahn was author of Bits of History 1 and 2, editor of Bollinger County 1851-1976 publication, and editor of The Echos, a continuing history of Bollinger County.

Survivors include her husband; a brother, Charles Hopkins Jr. of Marble Hill; two sisters, Marjorie Bollinger of Marble Hill, and Kathryn Hathaway of San Clemente, Calif.

She was preceded in death by a brother and sister.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday at Liley Funeral Home here. ADK sorority will conduct a memorial service at 7:30.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Revs. Fred Shrum and Fred Ritter officiating. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill.
