Mary Ann Joyce, 77, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, May 22, 2011, at the family home.
She was born May 15, 1934, in Oran, Mo., to Herman and Anna Marie Halter Sturm. She married Bud Joyce Sr. in 1951. He preceded her in death in 1998.
Joyce was a waitress at Cheshire Inn in Clayton, Mo.
Survivors include two daughters, Deborah (Jim) Hanks and Vicki Paskel of Cape Girardeau; a daughter-in-law, Mary Joyce of Durant, Okla.; two half brothers, Ken and Robert Stern of Chicago; a half sister, Carol Ford of Chicago; and an uncle, George Halter of Merritt Island, Fla.
Also two nieces, Mary Jo Beasley-Grob of Cahokia, Ill., Donna (Jeff) Seabaugh-Berry of Cape Girardeau; two nephews, Ron (Patsy) Beasley of Cape Girardeau, Jerry Beasley of East Cape Girardeau, Ill.; eight grandchildren, Jimmy (Gretchen) Hanks of Cape Girardeau, Tony (Jennifer) Hanks of Jackson, Rachel Hanks of Cape Girardeau, Brian (Chrissy) Paskel of Festus, Mo., Brad Paskel of Cedar Hills, Mo., Crystal Joyce, Ron, James (Wendy) Merchberger of Durant; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Gerald "Buddy" Joyce Jr., and a nephew, Lyman Beasley.
According to her request, her body will be donated to Washington University.
There is no service.
