Mary Jo Westrich, 77, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, May 6, 2011, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center. She was born Sept. 16, 1933 in Thebes, Ill., the daughter of Merlin C. and Mary C. Roberts Willett. She and Walter Westrich were married Oct. 27, 1958, at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death June 18, 2010...

Mary Jo Westrich, 77, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, May 6, 2011, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center.

She was born Sept. 16, 1933 in Thebes, Ill., the daughter of Merlin C. and Mary C. Roberts Willett.

She and Walter Westrich were married Oct. 27, 1958, at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death June 18, 2010.

Mary Jo was in the banking industry 42 1/2 years and worked for First National, Centerre, Boatmen's and Nations Banks and retired from Bank of America.

She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and St. Vincent's Council of Catholic Women. She also belonged to VFW Post 3838 Auxiliary and National Secretary Association.

Survivors include five nieces, Ruth Willett of Albuquerque, N.M., Claudia Willett of Modesto, Calif., Lynn Willett of Arnold, Mo., Sherry Weber of Cedar Hill, Mo., and Robin Mitchell of Germantown, Md.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother, Bill Willett.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau. Parish prayers will be at 7, with a rosary immediately following.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. Kizito Wenani officiating.

Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
